Meet the Team
Each team member at @the HUB brings unique expertise and a shared commitment to fostering a supportive community environment.

Milly Boylan
Director and Support Worker
Milly is the guiding light and the driving force behind @the HUB. She has been supporting the people of Ross for two years, firstly as a Community Link Worker for HVOSS, and continuing in the role unpaid after the end of the contract term. She has a background in support and care work, with experience working with young care leavers, challenging behaviours, addictions and homelessness. She is a town councillor, an experienced business owner, highly qualified and trained, and passionate about Ross and it’s people.

Annie Fisher
Director and Centre Manager
Annie manages the finances, case work, governance and policies, applies for funding, updates the website and deals with queries and other administrative tasks. She is a committee member at Ross Community Larder and can assist with sourcing vouchers for food and heating for those in need. She has a background in property management and advocacy, has been a school governor locally for many years, and has worked as an Appropriate Adult.

Caroline Bennett
Director
Caroline runs an outside catering company, and has been instrumental in the set-up of Warm Welcome and @the HUB from the start, regularly providing healthy, nutritious hot lunches and puddings. She is an ex-town councillor, a committee member for Ross Community Larder, a director of The Larruperz Centre and a trustee for Hereford Open Door, a charity offering food and help to the street-homeless in Hereford. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, we are lucky to have her on board.

Rachel Hankins
Director
Rachel had a long career in the not-for-profit sector from 1988 – managing several charities including Citizens Advice, and turning a failing social enterprise into a thriving and profitable one. From 2001-07, she was in charge of grants for the voluntary sector in Gloucester City and Gloucestershire County Council.
Since 2007, she has been a freelance management consultant working with charities, CICs and grant-making trusts. Her approach is to build skills in organisations so they can do their best work with their clients at the frontline through being well-organised and benefiting from excellent leadership and governance. She has mentored many charity CEOs in leadership skills.
Rachel is passionate about the work of @The Hub to combat poverty, fight injustice and support vulnerable people at the margins of society. She believes that “the opposite of poverty is not wealth, it’s justice” (as stated by the US human rights lawyer Bryan Stevenson).

Simon Lennane
Director
Dr Simon Lennane has been a GP in Ross-on-Wye for more than twenty years. Simon has a particular interest in health inequalities and social prescribing, and has written a book on community development for health.

Sponsorship opportunities
Suggested amounts needed to support core costs of the space including rent, insurance, utilities, wifi and phone and web hosting would be in the region of £50 per month.
Our group sessions will include:
A group for the elderly, mainly focussed on avoiding social isolation, help with benefits, and fuel and food poverty issues.
Groups for young people, focussing on back to work strategies, maintaining tenancies and computer literacy.
Groups for veterans, for young parents and our general group, already up and running in a temporary alternative venue, Warm Welcome – which provides hot and cold food, a safe space to engage with support services, and various activities.
Sponsorship of any of these groups is offered – the suggested rate is £50 per week per group.
One-off donations are also possible, we have a shopping list of things needed which includes laptops and a wireless printer, paper and ink, and sparring bags for the planned boxing sessions for young people.
In return we will display your name and logo on our sponsorship board, you will be mentioned in our press releases, and if you choose to buy individual items like laptops, we will display your name on those. We are prominent on Facebook, and will give regular shout-outs to our sponsors.
We are expecting heavy media coverage in the weeks post-opening, as community spaces like this are few and far between – and self-funded ones are even rarer!
